It’s already February, so much happened in January, we can’t wait.
Hard to believe January is already over, but if you have been drinking curious and trying some new eats and restaurants, it’s been a great month. We started the New Year with our friends at the Heritage Tavern in Madison, preparing an outstanding four-course meal paired with drinks by both Wisconsin Brewing Company and J. Henry & Sons Wisconsin Straight Bourbon. Wisconsin Brewing Company brews a delicious Bourbon-aged Dark Doppelbock beer called Wiskator that uses fresh J. Henry & Sons barrels for the aging. We were impressed with the continued high standard of Chef Dan Fox’s elegantly designed plates and Alex Kjell’s creative cocktails. One cocktail featured ‘caviar’ Alex manufactured using molecular chemistry techniques to birth beautiful liquid pearls of flavor, a surprise at the end of the glass. There was another Wiskator event at the Cask & Ale on State St. Cask & Ale carries hundreds of spirits to sample and both expressions of our bourbon are featured. Pasquale’s Cantina held a fun evening of dining, drinking and dancing where there was J Henry & Sons bourbon BBQ and barrel aged beer and tequila. And in February we will be at Graft in Madison for a Bourbon and Barolo dinner.
While we’re on the subject of events, there’s a very exciting one around the corner that you definitely don’t want to miss. Join us the evening of February 18th at the historic Edgewater Hotel in Madison for Distill America: A Celebration of American Distilling, which is put on by our friends at the Madison Malt Society. This is the 9th year the event has been put on and it gets better each time! Last year we had a table front and center as you entered the main ballroom. While we don’t know quite yet where we’re located this year, you’ll want to stop by and visit us as we launch our first new product of 2017! We won’t give any further details about this new product until then, so please, join us! You can still purchase tickets by visiting DistillAmerica.com.
Aside from being a great event, one of the reasons Distill America is special to us is that’s where we launched J. Henry & Sons Wisconsin Straight Bourbon back in 2015 and our sons joined us at this show in 2016 so it seems appropriate that we would launch our third expression at this show February 18.
We are so grateful to each of you for your support and enjoyment of our Bourbon since then. It has been a wonderful journey so far and we can’t wait to take this next step with you.
